Hanover Holiday Tours was incorporated in 1974 by Mr. Ralph and Mrs. Inez McLean. From their 11 years of experience at their own successful travel agency, Hanover Travel Service, they realized there was a need for a moderately priced, high service oriented motor coach tour company. Today, this need is still being met by Hanover Holiday Tours Limited under the ownership of Jim Diebel and Diane Diebel.
Mr. Diebel began his travel industry career in 1986 as an employee of the travel agency. In 1988, he was asked to join Hanover Holiday Tours. In 1991, he joined the management team at Hanover Holidays, and in 1992 he became a director of the company. Diane Diebel joined Hanover Holiday Tours in 1994, following the Diebel’s purchase of the company from the McLean’s in August of 1993.
Hanover Holiday Tours is fully licensed as a wholesale tour operator, as regulated by the Ontario Travel Industry Act. This assures all clients not only of the stability, but also the ability to satisfy clients since 1974. This license is monitored by the Travel Industry Council of Ontario, to insure Consumer Protection by the standards set forth in the Travel Industry Act of Ontario, including our financial stability.
All bookings are handled through licensed Travel Agents. This allows the consumer to be treated professionally, respectfully and receive all of the necessary information about Travel Documents, Insurance, and any other important information, one of which may be the many local joining points offered.
All tours feature first class, accommodation, motor coaches and included features. Beginning is 2001, all tours now feature an included Daily Breakfast. The Tour Directors are professional, informed and supply 5 star service to all passengers. Their experience and enthusiasm guarantee a holiday not soon forgotten. Customer satisfaction is #1 with all Hanover Holidays staff, beginning with the first phone call to the reservations department.
Although the majority of the tours are operated aboard a motor coach, a number of the tours begin with an air flight to initially reach the destination. This delightful combination of air and motor coach, creates a better value for customers everywhere. To this end in 1997, Hanover Holidays created an Add On Airfare program. This program allows Canadians from Coast to Coast to fly to Toronto and join a Hanover Holiday Tour at a reasonable rate. In subsequent Hanover Holidays brochures, individuals saw a single package price for any tour, that is based on departing from their closest city. As our programs and destinations continued to expand, cruising was also added to the line up.
All of the Tour Directors employed by Hanover Holidays can boast of many years of directing experience. An annual Tour Director Training Event, created and operated by Hanover Holidays, ensures continuity and updates to each Director with new company policies and procedures. Hanover Holidays believes that their professionalism is key to the success of each tour.
Hanover Holidays owns a fleet of vans which are used to provide a joining service that is second to none in the motor coach tour industry. The company offers hundreds of pick-up points in South Western Ontario, and as a result, our tours depart faster, as the shuttle vans can be used to bring people into fewer motor coach pick-up points. For each tour, the maximum number of motor coach pick-up points is limited to five, with four being the normal number.
In 1997 the Hanover Holidays website was created and is modified continually. Our website allows clients to view all of the itineraries and prices, as well as general information, travel tips and news information. The website can be viewed at www.hanoverholidays.com.
Hanover Holidays is a responsible community orientated business. Past major corporate sponsorship dollars were given to the Alzheimer Society of Grey and Bruce, while also supporting local sport teams and other community events. Today, we continue to annually sponsor the Longest Day of Golf, with all funds raised donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.
2003 was a special year for Hanover Holiday Tours as we were greatly pleased to be nominated and awarded the Company of the Year by the Saugeen Community Business Excellence Awards committee, as well as move into our new office and vehicle warehouse space. Designing and building our own buildings to suit the growing operation was a dream come true. With space for several motor coaches and shuttle vehicles, as well as a boardroom and offices for all our staff under one roof allowed for further efficiencies and growth.
After 46 years, Hanover Holidays continues to be a strong, consistent provider of enjoyable guided Motor Coach Tours. From an ever growing list of destinations around the world, our Canadian roots continue to be the company’s signature tour offerings. We invite you to Sit Back and Relax, the Motor Coach motto, and join us on any Hanover Holiday.
Sincerely,
Jim Diebel and Diane Diebel
