Day 1 Ottawa, ON

Our departure this morning takes us via Toronto and Kingston, before arriving in Ottawa for our first overnight. Welcome dinner included. (D)

Day 2 Trois Rivieres, QC

Departing Ottawa, we begin our journey of nature in Quebec by travelling to Mont Tremblant and comfortably sit on the Panoramic Gondola and admire the views until we reach the summit. Enjoy a breathtaking view of Lac Tremblant, the Laurentians and surrounding valleys. Here we enjoy the Birds of Prey show, watching the trained raptors take flight on the summit! We continue to Berthierville and experience hometown hero Gilles Villeneuve’s ascent to F1 legend. Explore the life of a local boy, along with retro items and F1 memorabilia. Continute to Trois Rivieres, where we check in for the next 3 nights. (B)

Day 3 Trois Rivieres, QC

After breakfast, we travel to Our Lady of the Cape Shrine. The Basilica has 300 years of history to tell. The octagonal shaped building, with a pyramid shaped dome has no columns or pillars to hinder the view of 1660 people in the pews. We continue to Borealis, a unique encounter between man and machine is showcased in the Roots and Identity exhibit, an exhibit housed in the former filtration plant. Learn of the many facets of the more than 100 year old paper industry. By looking to the past, we are better able to understand the future challenges of this major industry. For local flavor, we enjoy lunch and entertainment at Chez Dany, a sugar shack, long a sacred tradition in Quebec. Tonight a special event as we take in the Cirque du Soleil show in the new Amphitheatre! (B,L)

Day 4 Trois Rivieres, QC

Following breakfast, we travel the short distance to Shawinigan and the charming little Church of Notre-Damede- la-Presentation. Within its walls the last major project by Ozias Leduc, called the Michelangelo of Quebec. From here, we visit La Cite Science Center. Enjoy the multimedia presentation, “the Magic of Energy”, along with the Planet Energy permanent exhibit, which strives to make you aware of the delicate balance all around the world between energy, nature and human society. For those who wish, visit the 2nd tallest observation tower in Quebec, at 115 metres high, at the Hydro Quebec Observation Tower. We continue to the Museum of Prime Minister Jean Chretien, showcasing the numerous gifts received during his official duties from around the world. The incredible variety of gifts, which relate part of history, highlight Canada’s place in the world. Return to Trois Rivieres for an included farewell dinner. (B,D)

Day 5 Home, QC

Following an included breakfast, we retrace our steps and return to our joining points. (B)
