Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Kingston, ON

This morning we set out on a journey to explore a city steeped in history, Kingston. We travel through Prince Edward County along The Loyalist Parkway, a living monument to the Loyalist settlers. We continue our journey to The Lake on the Mountain. The lake is a natural curiosity with a constant flow of clean, fresh water, with no apparent source and sits 60 metres above Lake Ontario. We travel via The Glenora ferry across a portion of the Bay of Quinte where we once again join the Loyalist Parkway for a scenic drive along the water to Kingston. Check into our hotel and Dinner included at hotel this evening. (D)

Day 2 Kingston, ON

After breakfast, we hop on board our coach as there is no better way to experience a new city than with guided tour by those who know it best. After lunch on your own, we step inside the walls of Canada’s oldest penitentiary and explore the living and working areas, some dating back to the 1830s. Hear the personalized accounts from former staff and learn about the history and the daily routines, including stories of escapes, riots and everything in between on this 1.5-hour guided tour. After time to freshen up, we enjoy a 3-hour sunset dinner cruise to end our day. (B,D)

Day 3 Home

Following our breakfast, adventure waits for those who wish to purchase a 10 or 20 minute helicopter ride* to tour the 1000 Islands during free time this morning before our included visit to Fort Henry. Explore 19th century military life at Fort Henry, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will see the Fort Henry Guard march, the cannons boom and the drums roar! Once inside the wooden gates, visitors enter the realm of 19th century military life, where you will also see people representing the civilian population of the Fort as schoolteachers and soldiers' wives. All too soon, we bid Kingston farewell and begin our journey home. (B) *Additional fee for optional helicopter ride
