Day 1 Frankenmuth, Michigan
From our many southern Ontario joining points, we cross the border at Sarnia/Port Huron. We arrive in Frankenmuth late afternoon, with time to enjoy Bronner’s Christmas World, Outlet shopping or simply take in the charming atmosphere of downtown Frankenmuth.
Day 2 Mackinac Island
A casual morning breakfast before we head north and arrive in Mackinaw City. Shepler’s Ferry takes us to Mackinac Island, located in Lake Huron, at the eastern end of the Straits of Mackinac. Our arrival on the Island, where bikes and horse drawn carriages are the favoured mode of transportation, is set for midafternoon. Welcome to one of the Midwest’s top 5 resorts, the Grand Hotel, where we stay for 2 relaxing nights. Every year since 1887, the Grand Hotel has welcomed countless guests to their outstanding accommodations, where no two guest rooms are alike. Enjoy spectacular views in a rocking chair on the world’s longest porch. Tonight, we enjoy a 5 course Dinner, including Demitasse. (B,D)
Day 3 Mackinac Island
A full breakfast buffet is included this morning and then we enjoy a locally guided carriage tour of the Island. This afternoon is free for you to enjoy the quaint shops, tour the old fort or simply relax. Once again tonight, another fabulous 5 course Dinner. Enjoy evening entertainment, with ballroom dancing to the Grand Orchestra and more. (B,D)
Day 4 Home
This morning we board the ferry and say farewell to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and board our motor coach for our return trip home. We hope you enjoyed your taste of one of America’s Historic Hotels. (B)
