Mackinac Island Lilac Festival

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Southern Ontario to St. Ignace, MI

From your local joining points we travel to the border at Sarnia and cross into the U.S. After lunch we make our way north on I-75 to the Straits of Mackinac, where Lake Michigan empties into Lake Huron. After crossing the Mackinac Bridge, we arrive in the small community of St. Ignace and check into the Best Western Harbour Pointe Resort for our 3-night stay, located right on the shores of Lake Huron.

Day 2 Mackinac Island

This morning we board a ferry for Mackinac Island, where the Lilac Festival celebrations are taking place. Every year the list of events changes and grows…everything from art exhibitions, to wine tastings and guided Lilac walks…you are sure to find something of special interest to you. We begin our day with a carriage tour, a most enjoyable way to see the Island. We end our tour at the magnificent Grand Hotel. You will have time to explore the hotel as we enjoy the famous Grand Luncheon Buffet, featuring hot and cold entrees, seafood, salad, fresh fruit, cheeses, meats and pastries. With the ferry’s running on a regular schedule, you can choose your own time to return to the mainland. (B,L)

Day 3 Mackinac Island

Today we return to Mackinac Island, to continue with the fun of the Festival. As it is the last day, you will want to be on Main Street at 4 pm to watch the finale of the festival, with the Lilac Festival Parade. After the parade, we return to the mainland for our final overnight and included dinner. (B,D)

Day 4 Home

With our luggage safely aboard the motor coach, we depart from St. Ignace with a relaxing motor coach ride back to Ontario. There will be a stop for duty free, before you return home. (B)
