Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Southern Ontario to Ottawa, ON

Join us as we travel eastward to Ottawa, our Nation's Capital. Upon arrival a short drive tour of downtown Ottawa followed by a Welcome Dinner and get together. (D)

Day 2 Quebec City, QC

From Ottawa we travel to Quebec City for a tour of the only walled city in North America. After a local guide shows us around the city with some terrific information, there will be time to stroll the narrow streets of this historic location on your own. (B)

Day 3 Miramichi, NB

Today we cross to the south shore of the St. Lawrence and travel through the community of Riviere-du-Loup. Once in New Brunswick you’ll have delightful rolling hills to view as you make your way to Miramichi, at the mouth of the river with the same name. This evening we have included an Atlantic Salmon Dinner followed by a wonderful experience at the Miramichi Kitchen Party, where stories, songs and dancing in an informal atmosphere make for an evening you won’t want to end! Day 4 Halifax, NS

This morning we head south passing Kouchibouguac National Park featuring amazing beaches and the warmest water north of the Carolina’s. A stop at Olivier Soapery where only natural ingredients are used to create soaps known both for their health properties and artistic shapes. In Shediac, home of the World’s Largest Lobster, we board the boat of a local fisherman for a firsthand look at the Lobster Fishing Industry. From catching and cooking a Lobster, to the proper way of eating and enjoying this incredible tasting seafood, this visit has it all, including a Lobster Lunch. We then continue to the great Maritime city of Halifax for a three night stay! (B,L) For those wishing a shorter tour, you may fly to Halifax and join us this evening at our hotel.

Day 5 Halifax, NS

After breakfast, we take you on a tour of Halifax. You’ll learn of the Halifax Explosion and other significant events of the city’s history. The afternoon is at leisure to stroll the beautiful waterfront, visit Pier 21 the Immigration Museum or grab a bite to eat in one of the local eateries. Gather together for an included Dinner this evening! (B,D)

Day 6 Halifax, NS

This morning we visit famous Peggy's Cove and enjoy Breakfast facing the Lighthouse. Then a visit to the Fisheries Museum in Lunenburg, where we come face to face with the culture of Atlantic Canada, before returning to Halifax. (B)

Day 7 Sydney, NS

Leaving Halifax after breakfast, we travel to Cape Breton Island via the Canso Causeway. This afternoon we visit the Fortress of Louisbourg. Here a local guide takes us back in time to the year 1744 for a tour of one of Canada’s largest National historic sites. We check into our hotel in Sydney and enjoy an included dinner this evening. Day 8 Cape Breton Island

Today we enjoy the famous scenic Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island, with picture stops and a picnic Lunch enroute. (B,L)

Day 9 Charlottetown, PE

Cape Breton Island was the summer home of Alexander Graham Bell. This morning we include a visit to the Museum that honours this famous inventor. Here you will also discover why he fell in love with Cape Breton. Later we travel to Caribou and board our ferry to Wood Islands to cruise across the Northumberland Strait to P.E.I., the traditional way of travel to and from the Island. This evening we have included another amazing Lobster Dinner, where you can again practice your new methods to break apart this great meal! (B,D)

Day 10 Charlottetown, PE

Following breakfast, we begin with a tour of Historic Charlottetown before we tour Prince Edward Island with its’ quaint fishing villages, Cavendish, the home of Anne of Green Gables and Green Gables Heritage Place and the PEI Preserve Co. Late afternoon we return to Charlottetown. Balance of afternoon and evening on your own. (B)

Day 11 Fredericton, NB

This morning we first leave P.E.I. via the Confederation Bridge. Spanning a length of over 12km this bridge is truly an amazing engineering marvel. Then we take time to visit Hopewell Rocks, where you can view the effects of the highest tides in the world. Continuing along the shores of the Bay of Fundy, you will pass dyked farmlands and small communities before entering Fundy National Park. Tonight we are in Fredericton, our home for the next 2 nights. (B)

Day 12 Fredericton, NB

We begin the day with a guided city tour of the New Brunswick capital, which is also home to the University of New Brunswick. Then we visit Kings Landing, a recreated Loyalist settlement of the 1800’s where demonstrations of Butter Churning, sheep shearing, nail forging and more, take us back in time. An authentic Lunch included. Once back in Fredericton the afternoon is free to enjoy a boat cruise on the Saint John River, the Beaverbrook Art Gallery or one of the many other suggestions from your Tour Director. (B,L)

Day 13 Trois Rivieres, QC

Travelling north along the Saint John River valley we make our way back to Quebec, first stopping to see the world’s longest covered bridge at Hartland. Sit back and enjoy the charming scenery of the St. Lawrence River as we make our way to Trois Rivieres for overnight. A wonderful evening Dinner and entertainment awaits us at the Chez Dany Sugar Shack, where you will enjoy a traditional Lumberjacks Feast and learn about the Quebec Maple Syrup industry. (B,D) Clients choosing the shorter fly in tour, depart from Fredericton today.

Day 14 Home

After breakfast we depart Trois Rivieres and make our way back home, with stops enroute. We know you will have many fond memories of this wonderful part of Canada! (B)
