Day 3 Calgary, AB

This morning a local guide will point out the highlights of the city and then we head to the famous Alberta Badlands. You’ll see how dramatically the landscape changes as you descend into the Valley of the Dinosaurs. Near Drumheller, we visit the famous Royal Tyrrell Museum. The first Albertosaurus was discovered by Joseph B. Tyrrell, a young geologist who was searching for coal seams in the Red Deer River valley in 1884. It is now the most common of the large carnivores found in Alberta. (B)

Day 4 Banff, AB

Today we leave Calgary and travel to the town of Banff, nestled in the Heart of the Canadian Rockies. A Gondola ride to the top of Sulpher Mountain offers a spectacular 360-degree panorama of the town of Banff, the Bow River and the majestic Mount Rundle. Enjoy lunch on your own on one of several outdoor terraces and watch for the Big Horn Sheep who call the mountain top their home. Later we enjoy an afternoon cruise on Lake Minnewanka. The balance of the day is at leisure to explore this picture-postcard town. (B)

Day 5 Banff, AB

A relaxing day of sightseeing as we travel to Lake Louise. You will be in awe of the pristine blue waters of Lake Louise cradled in the forefront of the snowcapped Mount Victoria and set in the shadow of the Chateau Lake Louise. Later we visit Moraine Lake, in The Valley of the Ten Peaks. This crystal-clear lake is hemmed in by 10 lofty mountain peaks; the scene from the back of an older $20 bill. We return to Banff where the balance of the day is at your leisure to explore, shop or visit one of the local museums. (B)
